I've actually created!

These are the first creations I have made with items from the new catalogue! I've been so busy and a little lost in the 'mojo' department. But I realised last night that I had 2 birthdays that i needed to post cards off for - TOMORROW (which is now today). SO I had to sit and create then and there.
This first one was inspired by a card by Marelle Taylor.
Cardstock: marina mist, black and whisper white. Stamps: Delicate doilies, happiest birthday wishes (hostess set). Inks: marina mist and rich razzleberry. Punch: lace ribbon border, decorative label
I love this new ribbon border punch so much!!

This next card for my friends birthday uses hostess stamps: array of sunshine and happiest birthday wishes. Colours, certain celery, marina mist and pumpkin pie. Punch: scallop trim border punch.
and a close up of the main layered flower

Feeling un-inspired????

If you are anything like me, somedays you just feel so un-inspired and have real difficulty in designing the 'right' card. Thats when its a great idea to grab your Stampin' Up! idea book and catalogue. Its there for you to use and take inspiration from and its so full of fantastic ideas, you'll be sure to find the right design to use.

Thats exactly what I have done today with this card. I have been a bit lost, (or I've lost my mojo) with cardmaking lately. I have found it again thanks to the brand new catalogue which is about to be released! Its absolutely amazing!! Cant wait for everyone to see it (it wont be long, its released on Sept 1st). But I found this design for a stamp set I already have and it was quite easy to do. I love the end result and its certainly better than what I had in mind.

So don't sit there pondering on a design, just grab your catalogue and flick through and you'll be sure to find the perfect card.

70th birthday invites

I was asked by a friend if I would make some birthday invitations for her mothers 70th. She only needed 10, so I said yes. It was quite challenging. Colours had to be navy, red, white - so this is what i designed. Something simple yet classy.
Stamp sets used: priceless and circle circus (my fave)

Eastern blooms

Thought I'd share this card which we created at a recent in-home workshop. I really love these colours together and am loving this stamp set - Eastern blooms.
Items used: scallop trim border punch, DSP, Eastern blooms stamp set and vintage vogue, inks and cardstock: rich razzleberry, marina mist, whisper white, melon mambo and soft suede. Have also used some kindy glitz for some added sparkle to the centre of the flowers and of course the rich razzleberry ribbon for the finishing touch.

simple chocolate decoration

One good thing about having friends with the same interests as you, is sharing your supplies. I have been borrowing a friends punches lately (ones which I have yet to buy) to help with my workshops, so I bought her some Ferrero Rochers, and decorated them very simply with some SU punches and ribbon and a classic brown paper wrapping.

A little nicer than just handing over the box of chocolates!

Punched inchies

I have a workshop this week where there will be a few scrapbookers. I was asked by the hostess to try and make some little 'inchies' that could then be used on scrapbooking pages or on cards as embellishments. So I bundled together a few Stampin' Up! punches and came up with these 3 inchies. So when I was out last Friday night, I created this layout to show how they can be used to embellish a page. I am definitely going to make some more as I love the versatility of them. I hope they like making and using them.

punches used: various sized circles, fancy flower, 2 step bird, scallop circle, scallop trim border.
I have also used the Beautiful wings embosslit dies.

ORANGE - not my normal colour choice

ORANGE is not normally a colour I use very often. But, my cousin was getting married on the weekend and they were having a sunrise beach wedding with a Balinese feel. So, I decided ORANGE was the colour to use for their wedding card. I cased this card from Teneale Williams
I am more than happy with the final result and just hope the newly married couple like it too.
Items used: cardstock:peach parfait, whisper white, ink: peach parfait, soft suede and versamark. Stamps: Bliss, well scripted, fun and fast notes. and misc lace, pearls, pins.

This next one is for SOMEONE (Who I cant name yet). So i decided to give orange another go. I used the Bliss stamp set from the Sale-a-bration set again as well as the level 1 hostess set: punch pot pourri. Same inks and cardstock as above, misc lace and the scallop trim border punch.

Top Note 'surprise'

I am super proud that I managed to create this with no dramas!! You could say that this is my first 'off the page' item. I got this idea from Marelle Taylor and decided to give it a go as it looked fantastic. This is the end result for me and it was super easy to make and only took about 15 minutes.
The outside is created using Stampin' Ups! top note big shot die, and the flower also with the blossom party die, (The stamp is a retired stamp) and stampin' Up ribbon and smooch spritz.
Inside I have placed chocolates in little pouches (see below). These chocolates are a mini variety from Aldi and you get about 5 chocolates per pack for around $2.
I created this as a thankyou for my workshop host 'Nikki' and she was quite happy with it too.

And this is a view of the inside. I have used half a sheet of the 'love letter' DSP and folded the bottom up slightly to create the pocket for the chocolates. I used the sticky strip to hold to the top note cardstock front.

If you would like to know more just message me.

2nd Birthday card

My little man is going to a birthday get-together tomorrow, so I made this card for him to give to her. This card was inspired by Nicole Stalker's congratulations card. I just changed the colours and images and was happy with the bright result.

items used:
stamp sets: well scripted (summer mini catalogue), fun and fast notes (pg 46 of current catalogue).
DSP - DSP patterns stack (pg 127)
white satin ribbon, cardstock and watercolouring was using the 'in colours' range

Stampin' Start kit

When I signed onto Stampin' Up! back in October i decided to play around with some items I received in my start up kit as well as some I already had. I decided to cover a white gift box I had, and turn it into my sewing box (as I am not a sewer by any means, can only do the very basic repairs etc, and dont have many things to put in the box).
So, I used the DSP paper stack that came with the kit ans some of the cardstock. I used some ribbon for the edges which I already had and the same with the leftover chipboard pieces. Inked up the chipboard, stamped the DSP on front and sides and created this funky flower with the scallop circle punch and topped it off with an antique brad.
I am very happy with the bright result, and now when i want to find some cotton, they are all there together and I dont have to rummage through the cupboard.
Thanks for looking, (apologies if the photos are slightly off colour)

challenge page

I have just signed up to a challenge blog for Stampin' Up! lovers. The group is called Stampin' Up in Oz. The current challenge is to use the new Stampin' Up smooch spritz. This is my creation which serves a dual purpose, as I am also entering it to Scrapbooking Memories for a sibling page. I have used the silver smooch spritz over the background for a bit of shimmer and splatter.(although it doesnt show up very well in the photo)

Scrapbooking again

Here is another page using mostly Stampin' Up! products (everything except letters and cardstock)
Its a photo taken of me and my friend Melissa (Saa) while we were on a Scrap Girls retreat last March. We had such a fantastic weekend (I am going again this coming March)
Items used: older Stampin' Up! papers plus the current Newsprint DSP (Pg 127 of catalogue), inks: old olive, choc chip, peach parfait, real red and marina mist ink refill, misc older chipboard pieces, stamp set: playful pieces (hostess set) scallop trim border punch, gold smooch spritz (summer mini catalogue), champagne shimmer paint (pg 143 current catalogue) this paint is so much fun to use. It gives a very glittery effect when mixed with inks or used on its own. There are 3 different strengths to choose from. Contact me if you would like to order and try for yourself.
